Why Obama’s government-run healthcare will destroy us

Obama, Pelosi and Reid should not control our access to healthcare. They will decide who receives treatment and who doesn’t. Like the woman in Oregon whose state-run health program denied her access to a potentially life-saving medicine, because she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and the state didn’t think paying for her medicine would be cost-effective for the state. Or the man in Oregon who was told by the state that they would pay for his assisted SUICIDE rather than the life-saving treatment to keep him ALIVE.

Sounds a lot like what’s already happening in the UK, where the government is denying care to the sick and elderly all in the name of cost-cutting.  Obama wants to replicate the cost-cutting “success” of the Oregon healthcare program. In so doing:

1.    Medicare for All will create shortages in healthcare services forcing providers to ration care and increase wait times for patients (12-18 month wait in other countries).

2.    Currently, Americans do not pay taxes on employer provided health insurance benefits.  If you have health insurance through your company, you are about to be taxed on those plans.  The Government will require all Americans have health insurance and impose FINES on those who do not.

3.    The REAL GOAL:  Government insurance seeks to eventually squeeze out and eliminate private health insurance companies altogether, forcing Americans to become dependent on a “one plan fits no one” Medicare system.

4.    The Government will have access to and control over your health records intruding into the privacy and confidentiality of the doctor patient relationship.  We all know how the Government handles confidential information.

5.    The current Medicare and Medicaid programs are flawed and full of corruption.  What will happen when we add another 100 million Americans to the program?

6.    The President’s current plan will add another TRILLION dollars to the deficit.  Another government program on an already strained economy will bankrupt the United States.

7.    How will Congress pay for their new plans? TAXES.  The President campaigned that 95% of Americans would receive a tax cut.  However Democrats are now planning to increase taxes on everything from sugar to cigarettes as well as creating new taxes, such as Value Added Tax.

8.    No one in the country is currently denied access to healthcare  so why is the President rushing a plan for socialized medicine without thoughtful debate and consideration? The Government should not be allowed to tell you what healthcare you are entitled to and how to live your life.

9.    Government controlled heath care takes the decision making out of the hands of individuals and families and puts it in the hands of politicians in Washington.

10.      What legal recourse will you have if the government denies you or a loved one medical care? None.

Obama’s VAT (Federal Sales Tax)

Posted on June 10, 2009. Filed under: Economy, Obama, Politics, Socialism, Taxes | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Obama and the Democrats are really geniuses, following in the tradition of old socialist European failures, while new Europe is finally seeing the err of their ways, turning the way of capitalistic America, returning to fiscally responsible conservatism.

This VAT tax will increase the price of EVERYTHING. The price of everything you buy will increase 25% or more. A new way of taking more tax money from the people to pay for their massive entitlement programs…but this tax will be hidden in the price of all products and services, increasing the cost to produce goods and services, so the final product will be 25% more expensive….living life will just become more expensive by about 25% or so. If you spend $20,000 a year on necessities….NOW you will be spending $25,000 a year on necessities…$50,000? NOW $62,500! (Just multiply your living expenses by 1.25). Way to go, in the middle of the worst recession in 70 years or so…job losses…business closings….now making life more expensive for everyone. Doesn’t seem like a tax CUT for 95% of Americans, now, does it?

Sarah Palin cleared of all 14 ethics charges filed against her during/after the campaign

Sarah Palin was cleared of all ethics complaint charges (14 of 14) this week. Liberal loons filed the bogus charges against her, as soon as she was named the VP pick for John McCain last year, just to make life difficult. Fighting the unfounded charges has been a ridiculous waste of Alaska taxpayers’ money.

We heard a lot about the charges being filed AGAINST Sarah Palin on the mainstream media throughout the past several months. But you don’t hear a lot about the fact that Palin has been CLEARED of all 14 charges on the mainstream news media, which is a major feat on her behalf….makes you wonder if the media is corrupt, I mean, why aren’t they reporting this big news story on most TV news channels or major Internet news sources? Of course I must be wrong, because the media is supposed to be objective and honest…silly me, they probably don’t have an agenda!

Tax Day Tea Party in Hauppauge, NY

Posted on April 15, 2009. Filed under: Congress, Economy, Obama, Politics, Socialism, Tea Parties | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

What a great day to be an American. Forecasts of rain turned into sunny skies and over 1,000+ or so gathered at the Korean War Memorial at the Dennison Building on Rt. 347/454 in Hauppauge. Tons of signs protesting obscene government spending, printing of money and taxation without representation, cars honking in support (I only saw one liberal commie driving in a Beetle who gave us the finger), Steve Levy, the Suffolk County Executive, surprisingly in attendance, due to his last-minute attempt to stop the tea party one day earlier – but not allowed to speak due to the rules of the organizers (NO politicians allowed to speak, from either side of the aisle)….I can’t give him too much credit though, the Tea Party did take place on the lawn of the government building he works in.

This is TRUE grassroots organizing, fueled by the disgust of patriotic Americans over the government’s abuse of power. Unlike the fake “grassroots” movements, funded by left-wing zealot George Soros, paying for so-called activists to protest in support of liberal ideologies, Tax Day Tea Parties are part of the true revolution of tax-paying citizens who are fed up, and we’re not going to take it any more.

The liberal media, and even the Department of Homeland Security, tried to diminish the authenticity of the thousands of tea parties taking place across the nation in EACH and EVERY state today as being fueled by “right-wing extremists,” whose motives are fueled by “hatred and racism.” Obviously the left cannot compete with the merit of the argument of these tea parties based on substance, so they falsely accuse protesters as being racists, the only thing the left knows how to do; resort to name-calling, and turning one thing into something that it is not, in order to distract from what’s really going on.

They ask, “What, do you expect not to pay ANY taxes, ever again?” No, buddy. And although the idea of these “tea parties” is largely symbolic, and we know that we need taxes for safety, police, the defenseless and national defense, as opposed to massive taxation for entitlement programs and bailing out failure in business, many in the media and on the left do not get it.

Let me simply explain the beef us Tea Party Attenders have with the government:

1. They are printing too much money, which will devalue the dollar and put us in a major inflation when we finally do get out of this economic mess. We need a strong dollar. We’ve doubled the money in circulation in the past several months. Doubling the money makes it theoretically worth LESS.

2. The new Democrat President Obama and the overwhelmingly Democrat Congress have passed a non-stimulus bill that spends WAY too much taxpayer money on things that won’t even stimulate anything in the economy. Just wasteful spending, like the Democrats LOVE to do as payback for all their political donations from special-interest groups. Trillions of dollars worth of wasted taxpayer money, including their new budget for this year.

3. The Republicans have been acting like Democrats! Let me get this straight: Republicans are the only ones who will tax LESS and spend LESS. Democrats will always tax MORE and spend MORE. But the problem is, for the past several years, and at the beginning of this fiscal crisis, BOTH parties chose to tax, spend* and print money. That’s why the Republicans that broke their own rules lost their seats. The ONLY way we can stop this out-of-control tax, spend and print train is to find and elect Republicans who will be fiscally responsible again. You will never get a Democrat who is fiscally responsible at their core, so if you want accountability, and financial responsibility with our tax dollars, vote Republican.

*If you think fighting the War on Terror on the offense, away from our borders, is fiscally irresponsible, I would recommend seeking professional mental help.

4. The government is ignoring the Constitution and the best interests of the people. The Constitution exists to PROTECT us from government tyranny. The Constitution doesn’t GIVE us rights, it is there to PROTECT our God-given rights: LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. The government steps on our liberty when they attempt to tax away more than half of our hard-earned money. Think about it, federal and state income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes and all are increasing to obscene socialism levels.

5. The government has to stop spending money it does not have! For example, they’ve stolen money from the Social Security fund AWAY from paying Social Security benefits in order to pay for other things! Who gave them the power to do this? They need to learn to stop spending when they run out of money. You can’t spend more money than you have. It’s stupid and irresponsible, and it only creates a deeper debt that you need to repay eventually…(unless you purchased a house that you couldn’t afford, since Obama is using taxpayer money to pay your mortgage for you). How can our elected representatives do this to the people they are supposed to represent?

I could go on and on…

So no, its not racist, or hate-fueled ignorance that has driven hundreds of thousands, or maybe millions, to protest the socialization of America today.

Protesting capitalism at the G20 Summit

Posted on April 1, 2009. Filed under: Economy, International, Obama, Politics, Socialism | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

It’s been a while since I last posted. When I started this blog it was because our new President Obama was doing something every single day that made absolutely no sense from day one of his administration, and not even did these things make no sense, but they were dangerous for our country as well. I mean, stupid things that have shown me Obama has never learned a thing from history when it comes to the economy or the protection of our citizens. I have written emails to myself daily with topics of the day and links to news articles in order to blog about them during the week. Well, those emails have piled up and I still haven’t gotten to them. Why?

I’ve been working my ass off trying to keep my business afloat while the Obama administration’s FTC implemented new regulations on my industry a few weeks ago. Really. During the worst time in the economy, he chooses to make doing business, and making more money, even more difficult. Is it no wonder that the democrats controlling the economy have had no actual experience running a business in their lives? They have never held a job in the private sector. Ever. Should they be running our economy? I think they should they be listening to the business experts (usually political conservatives). Why must they continue to bicker over economics when we all know that capitalism, unfettered, always leads to prosperity?

Which leads me to the title of this post. At the G20 Summit in London, President Obama had a press conference this morning with Prime Minister Gordon Brown and, on a side note, Obama made a speech and answered questions about the global economic crisis with the most ridiculous combination of words I have ever heard. Not a single sentence made any sense. He has absolutely no idea what he is talking about and his disdain for capitalism really scares me. He really does need that teleprompter. And they said Bush was stupid!

There are anti-capitalism protesters and people protesting in support of anarchy at the G20 Summit. First of all, this just shows how little people actually understand about capitalism and anarchy. Of course, anyone who has done their fair share of research knows capitalism is proven to work but quasi-capitalism does not. Free markets lead to prosperity whereas over-regulated markets are destined to fail. Anarchy is only a temporary state and it is usually pushed on a society that is ready to blame one group for a problem while another group takes advantage of the disenfranchisement of the people and gains power from doing so.

Our problem is our President is an anti-capitalist. So is Gordon Brown, who was chewed out for his irresponsible socialist policies by Daniel Hannan, a Member of the European Parliament for England, a European who has finally seen for himself the virtues of capitalism and the fact that socialism does not work and, in fact, hurts the economy.

Here is a transcript of his speech:

Prime Minister, I see you’ve already mastered the essential craft of the European politician, namely the ability to say one thing in this chamber and a very different thing to your home electorate. You’ve spoken here about free trade, and amen to that. Who would have guessed, listening to you just now, that you were the author of the phrase ‘British jobs for British workers’ and that you have subsidised, where you have not nationalised outright, swathes of our economy, including the car industry and many of the banks? Perhaps you would have more moral authority in this house if your actions matched your words? Perhaps you would have more legitimacy in the councils of the world if the United Kingdom were not going into this recession in the worst condition of any G20 country?

The truth, Prime Minister, is that you have run out of our money. The country as a whole is now in negative equity. Every British child is born owing around £20,000. Servicing the interest on that debt is going to cost more than educating the child. Now, once again today you try to spread the blame around; you spoke about an international recession, international crisis. Well, it is true that we are all sailing together into the squalls. But not every vessel in the convoy is in the same dilapidated condition. Other ships used the good years to caulk their hulls and clear their rigging; in other words – to pay off debt. But you used the good years to raise borrowing yet further. As a consequence, under your captaincy, our hull is pressed deep into the water line under the accumulated weight of your debt We are now running a deficit that touches 10% of GDP, an almost unbelievable figure. More than Pakistan, more than Hungary; countries where the IMF have already been called in. Now, it’s not that you’re not apologising; like everyone else I have long accepted that you’re pathologically incapable of accepting responsibility for these things. It’s that you’re carrying on, wilfully worsening our situation, wantonly spending what little we have left. Last year – in the last twelve months – a hundred thousand private sector jobs have been lost and yet you created thirty thousand public sector jobs.

Prime Minister, you cannot carry on for ever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we’re ‘well-placed to weather the storm’, I have to tell you that you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik giving the party line. You know, and we know, and you know that we know that it’s nonsense! Everyone knows that Britain is worse off than any other country as we go into these hard times. The IMF has said so; the European Commission has said so; the markets have said so – which is why our currency has devalued by thirty percent. And soon the voters too will get their chance to say so. They can see what the markets have already seen: that you are the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued government.

Obama could learn a thing or two from this guy.

Democratically-controlled Senate kills school voucher program

Posted on March 11, 2009. Filed under: Congress, Education, Obama, Politics | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

I spoke too soon.

Yesterday I praised Obama for standing up to ineffectual teacher’s unions but today I learned that while Obama was giving lip service to doing the right thing for our children’s education, his Democratically-controlled Senate killed the DC school choice voucher program, which enabled poor and mostly minority kids to go to private schools instead of the dangerous and underperforming public DC schools.

The most embarrassing thing about this is two of Obama’s daughter’s classmates will not be attending Sidwell Friends School any longer because their daddy and his Democratic buddies, who controll Congress, are taking away the vouchers that enable these children to attend the private school.

Now which side is it that is for equal opportunity for all?

On his 50th day as President, Obama finally does something good for the country

Posted on March 10, 2009. Filed under: Education, Obama, Politics | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

But should we be praising procrastination?

Obama is taking a cue from the Republicans and is finally standing up to the teacher’s unions in an effort to really improve our education system. On his 50th day as President, Obama made his first education speech in which he touted merit pay for teacher performance, and the removal of bad teachers who are given a chance to improve but do not.

Let’s just hope he stands by his words and doesn’t end up throwing more money at the problem without any improvements in our children’s education, as Democrats are known to do, especially in their appeasement of ineffective teacher’s unions. Unions are effective in getting what they want for themselves, usually at the detriment to their students’ education. But they get the vote out for the Democrats!
